Nearly twenty officers who joined cooperative banks on deputation in Rajasthan fraudulently availed themselves of credit cards and loans at concessional rates.
According to a preliminary investigation, the amount embezzled could go up to Rs. 80 lakh. Registrar of cooperatives Dr. R. Venkteshwaran has imposed a ban on officers working on deputation in cooperative banks taking loans.
Officers from the cooperative dept, , cooperative bodies and govt. depts are sent on deputation in cooperative banks. These officers work as MDs and CEOs. The officers who have misappropriated the bank money would legally be proceeded against under 16 CCA.
Meanwhile, cooperative minister of Rajasthan Ajay Singh has said strict action would be taken against both incumbent and retired officers who have defaulted on payment to cooperative banks.
