I am from Mumbai and my query is regarding the ensuing elections to our society as Managing Committee being held under the Registrars representatives {Authority} as per the amended rules.
Sir, Can a associate member contest the elections in case he has been a member from September 2014. I was given to understand that he needs to complete two years as associate member.
Please confirm. Thank You.

Two year waiting for CHS has been removed under recetly amended MCS Act [Provisoo to Section 27(3A)]. That is for the 1st named member in the Share Certificate. Associate can vote in members’ meetingsif 1st named is absent. NO MORE RIGHTS ARE GIVEN TO ASSOCIATES under any Model Bye laws. Hoever check in your Bye Laws if it gives such a right.
