Soon after the AGM, the elected members would go in for close door consultation to elect the Chairman and Vice-chairman. Indian Cooperative has learnt that the former Chairman of Nafed Bijender Singh is the likely choice for the post of Chairman.
He is a senior member and age and experience matter in cooperatives, said one of the elected directors on condition of anonymity to Indian Cooperative. ”I do not know but if he wishes to be the Chairman I would support his candidature,” he added.
Sunil Singh who contested unsuccessfully told Indian Cooperative “ I had told you a fortnight ago and I repeat; mark my words, Bijender Bhaiyya is going to be the next Chairman”, he said in typical Bihari Hindi flavor, where even professional relationships are converted personal by use of epithets like Bhiayya quite commonly.
Informed sources say even the NCUI President Chandra Pal Singh would not hesitate if Bijender Singh expresses his wish, though his son Yash Pal Singh has also been elected Director and is technically fit to be the Chairman.
Had Vishal Singh been in the race both Bijendra and Chandra Pal would have found it a bit difficult given their fatherly support to him after the sad demise of his father late Ajit Singh. He stands disqualified on technical grounds and this does not leave them with a sense of guilt.
Indian Cooperative has learnt that Bijender Singh who was busy fighting Assembly elections till late evening on Thursday, has expressed the wish to become the Chairman. He is no longer the Nafed Chairman and his term at other places is also reportedly coming to an end by June 2015.
Indian Cooperative has also learnt that the duo of Bijender and Chandra Pal have agreed to make the outgoing Chairman Virendra Singh as the vice-chairman.
So much so far but the game of cooperative is no longer the same with the new government at the Centre. There are two political nominees and close aides of the Minister whom the heavy hitters may find tough to handle.
No Its not the big DAY….. Its better called the BLACK DAY FOR the cooperative culture into the indian context because once again the corruption regime continued in the cooperative.
Well GOD BLESS THE NCCF & ITS EMPLOYEES
Thanks

I am not agree with banarjee view, lagta hai ki banarjee sahib ka koi personal work Dr bijender singh ne nahi kiya hai isiliye banarjee mahodaya angry ho gaye hai.every body know who is accused of NAFED SCAM.
Chairmen of all state level cooperatives in the Country were on the Board of NCCF when it was set up in the year 1965, under Federal Structure. By amending the bye-laws, the Management of NCCF, of late, made all the State Federations out from the election fray and the Chairman of Primary level Cooperatives (not even district level) in the Northern India have been dominating the Management of NCCF for more than 20 years. What Banerjee said is perfectly right. Comments of G.N. Singh on the column of 5th February,2015 in this sight will tell upon as to what is happening in NCCF.
