In a rather bold statement Kerala’s State Cooperative Protection Council chairman Karakulam Krishna Pillai has blamed Income Tax Dept of creating unnecessary alarm in the cooperative sector.
Mr Pillai has disapproved the ways of IT Dept and said that its insistence to gather details of those who earn Rs 10,000 and more as interest and those who have Rs 5 lakh and more in their savings bank account.
Condemning the discrimination he said that for the PSU and private banks this limit is Rs 10 lakhs. Scared with dealing with cooperative banks depositors may run away, he warned
NDDB to manage Jharkhand State Dairy
The apex dairy cooperative organization in the country National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) will now manage the Jharkhand Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation.
A MoU was singed between the two sides in Ranchi on Saturday in the presence of Union Minister Jai Ram Ramesh.
The management of State co-op Federation will rest with NDDB, informed Jharkhand Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Mannan Mallick.
NDDB is also owner of the popular brand Mother Dairy and the Former Chairman of GCMMF Vipul Chaudhary lost his job trying to bag the top post of this apex body. Its high profile Chairman Mrs Amrita Patel resigned earlier.
T Nandakumar , a former agriculture secretary, according to information available with Indian Cooperative has been appointed as chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The new chairman Mr Kumar has taken charge from March 1, 2014.
J&K State Co-op bank holds AGM
J&K State Cooperative Bank’s business rose to Rs 720 crore this fiscal registering an increase of about Rs 100 crore from the past year.
The Chairman of the Bank M S Dar informed this in the Annual General Meeting (AGM held at Athwas Gahh in Srinagar.
Core banking Solution, Aadhar-enabled services and other electronic facilities have been implemented in the state apex cooperative bank, informed Mr Dar.
