With the demand of milk and milk products remaining robust in domestic as well as global markets, dairy cooperatives from Amul to Fonterra post impressive profits benefiting its members.
Those farmers affiliated to GCMMF are getting 10-12% more procurement price this year, on an average.
The ever growing demand has kept the dairy cooperatives on toes and GCMMF hopes a rise of 30% in its revenue. The planned turn-over of Rs 18,000 crore would not be a problem to achieve, said a GCMMF insider.
Talking to Indian Cooperative GCMMF Managing Director R S Sodhi said “We are expecting a growth of more than 30% in revenues this year, and hope to cross Rs 18,000 crore in turnover.
For the last five years, the compounded annual growth rate has been in the range of 20%. The incremental growth this year will come from the price increase’, he added.
